Jóhannes Patturson lives in Kirkjubøur. Kirkjubøur is among the oldest villages in the Faroe Islands. He lives in the historical king’s farm, the largest in the Faroe Islands. This farm has remained in the same family since the mid-16th century. It was in Kirkjubøur that the crew of the Westerbeek came ashore, coming from the island of Sandoy and on route to Torshavn. In theory, Jóhannes’ ancestors saw the crew walking!
